So, I am going about this saltwater thing about as backwards as possible I think. As of right now I'm filtering with the HOB that came with the aquarium "kit" that was delivered to my house and dropped in my lap because I have a fish tank and my mother in law knows how much my son loves Nemo and of course I could make this work for him right? anywho once I got started I realized the salty side of this hobby is actually pretty fun, seems to be lots of cool DIY stuff (I love DIY stuff). And I wanted to get this HOB filter off of the back of the tank and maybe do a sump my only problem is the tank is a 20 H so my room is limited I originally wanted to do the sump/reefugium deal but am worried I wont have enough room for both. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appriciated.
    Thanks,
    Lee

Hey there, all depends if you have room under the tank. Is the tank on a stand? Luna

yes tank is on a stand and my wife insists that any extras stay under the stand so my space is limited, I can work in Glass and acrylic though so building something custom would not be a problem the main limitation is the 20" or so width I don't know if I would have enough room to make enough sections to do everything, I thought it might be an either or thing, so that I don't make a several sections that are too small to serve their purpose.
    Thanks,
    Lee

All you need is a 10g refugium tank under the DT. Thats more than enough. Luna

But if you want to have more room for skimmers and such, get another 20g tank and place the necessary dividers and install it to the DT. Luna

Thanks for the feedback Luna, any good links or threads on how to set up the reefugium, I happen to have a 10 gallon glass tank sitting around but not quite sure as as intake, flow rates and output.
