Are you dosing the vodka in your systems ? If so hows it working out for you . see any differences . I assume the entire purpose for its use is still mainly NO3's and now for PO4's as well now I see ? Huum what ever happened to the DSB taking care of all these issues . I though that what that site was selling just 10 yrs ago or so .

 

does anyone have any experience with the vodka? Do you drip it in or just dump in sump?

 

I have tried it and so had a few guys I know I messed up on a little play tank and it went boom and did two of the three tanks my friends where trying it on.. And you have to dose it almost daily . And you use a syringe and inject i like a shot into the water. And again I'll ask the same question of Why dose it and what is it being used or dosed for ? whats the purpose of it ? Its just a new way to try and make the DSB do what they where all touted and sold to do was to naturally reduce Nitrates and Phosphates and to just be magic ! B/S is what I said back in 96 or so when it was dug out of the mothballs and dusted off . DSB fill up and the Vodka is a patch that will bite if you add just a little to much and once you start it it takes a long time to wean off of it.. Missing a scheduled dose is not good either . I did appreciate the fact he was honest about the DSB becoming a nutrient sink hole.. Most are not that honest about them .. But on the other hand OTS at one yrs old LOL Full of crap..

I wish some guys here would apply this idea and let use no how its working ? I'll stick to my skimmer PO4 reactor and Nitrate coils 100% safe and more effective and less work . get a Chemistry set is what many should be playing with. Those Picture where so faked I'd say about 4 to 6 months between them and different lights .. Like that Balding hair products LOL the before and after shots . Different angles and lighting all together..

 

Im sorry, but after reading the whole thread about dosing Vodka, I have to agree with Tangster. Much easier to have Po4 reactors, coil denitators and skimmers. To complicated, at least for me. Add this amount of vodka for this amount of time, but if you notice some of this, cut back half then go back to full dose, and to top it off, you can reach OTS within a year, rather than 10-12 yrs. What is a coil denitrator?

 

a magic tube lol. its a thin tube that water goes down where all the air gets used up in the begining so the anaerobic bacteria can populate the end and comsume nitrates. thats the theory any way

 

Is there any diy plans for one? My nitrates are the only thing that is off. That's why I was so interested in the vodka theory.

Nope its a scientific fact they are in use all over the worls and have been for decades Hell A large international tobacco Co grows the microbes in a huge multi million dollar plant that does this deed as well as the microbes that eat and break down oil spills , On the other hand now Vodka is like DSB thats a theory The coils I said is proven and fact.
