    Howdy

I recently set up a 10-gallon SW tank with live rock and cycled it, then I added a clarkii clown. He's been doing great and I've been able to keep all parameters stable, so I added a small hermit crab and 3 astreas just yesterday. This morning I noticed a ton of poo, presumably from the snails. What's up with that? It's disgusting! Are the snails/crab going to be adding significant bioload to my tank? And am I going to have to see all that poo all over?

Hey the dertitus comes from your live rock too. Especially since it is a relatively new tank. Be sure to siphon it out to help control alge.

thanks but i'm not talking about detritus, i'm talking about a large amount of poo that is clearly coming from my snails.

I have the same stuff from my large snail... it kind of looks like mini alfalfa pellets!
