more sand?

    i want to add more sand to my tank does it have to be live or can i use non live i guess you call it. and what method would i use to add it to a tank that already has two fish and a few hermits n snails. and is about 1 inch now.

    I've never done it but I plan on adding more sand to my tank also, but people have recommended getting a piece of PVC and pouring it through the pipe. That way its not completely in the water column and wont cloud the tank. You dont need "live" sand since your tanks sand is already live.

    well first i had crushed coral and it went through its cycle and i didnt like it so i took it out and added sand but not the live one and went through it cycle again i left a little bit of the crushed coral in there so it could seed it i guess and about 5 pounds of live rock. im going to try it with the pvc pipe n see how it goes.
