More skimmer issues

lol it might be a coincidence but i've been having trouble with microbubbles since day one and the leaking could be because of the filter sock if though no part of the filter sock is hanging over the back of the tank

 

the only time i've had it apart is when i first got it which was probably 2 months ago

 

take off the filter sock, determine it that is the problem. get a specimen container and turn it into a baffle system....

 

Puffer were you able to figure out the problem?

 

Ok ill take it off when I get home from work. And how do you go about turning it into a baffle system and do you possibly have pictures

 

Not yet but I'll work on it when I get home this evening

 

Mine was leaking recently from the o-ring. I took paper towels and wiped the bottom of the collection cup and the o-ring. Problem solved there was just a little bit of salt buildup.

 

I'm hoping that's all it is, I do get a lot of salt build up on everything

 

just a guess but the filter sock may be restricting the flow out from the skimmer and causing it to back up therefor appear to be leaking. either thaty or when you attached the filter sock you knocked something loose and it caused the leak. just my thinking but if it didnt do this before addint the filter sock then.... the filter sock caused or added to the problem.

 

This does sound like a possibility. If it is the filter sock I'm hoping there could be something else that I could use to stop the bubbles from pouring into the tank. Because as far as stopping bubbles the sock filter does an amazing job
