I have been doing some research on icecap slr T5 reflectors and I have made plans to switch out my existing T5 reflectors with slr's. The only thing that I am confused about is the different dimensions of icecap slr reflectors. I am running 54watt bulbs so the reflector length should be within a couple of inches of 48" and some websites have a different width and height. The icecap slr reflector from reefgeek is (LxWxH)43.25" x 2.5" x 1.0". The one from aquacave is 46.5"L x 2.5 "W x 2.75"H. Are there different types of icecap T5 slr reflectors?

    Thanks for the help.

Are they comparing apples to apples? Also, without sounding redundant but all SLR are going to be shorter than the bulb... you need to use water proof endcaps. I have Aquactinics SLR and I had to use two 3' to make my 5' retro as they do not make 5' SLR, SLS does but theirs are 3+" wide and I wanted 2" wide I want to say my SLR were 33"x2"x1" maybe, the height is what I can't remember off hand.
You could go to Icecaps website, or w/o sending you to another forum, go to there subforum on RC and ask....but come back!!
Why Icecap? Little know trade secret, until recently, maybe a half year or so, Aquactinics MADE Icecaps SLRs for them and Icecap just sold them under the Icecap name, even though they were almost Identical to the Aquactinics.
I just thought of something, is this for a retro or fixture?

    Happy reefing!

I know that they are going to be shorter. I am not to worried about the length. It is mainly the width and height that I am not sure about because they are some of the more important factors that contribute to the reflection of light. They don't have the height or width listed on their website and i already asked on rc. lol This is for a retro/fixture. I am going to modify my existing 6x54watt fixture to have 5x54watt slr's. I may end up building a canopy and cutting up my fixture. I have just been reading some par tests done by some people with icecap slr's and i want to make sure that i can acheive some of the same results. 1inch height vs. 2.75inches is a big difference. I think I may just call someone at icecap today to make sure.

If it helps my Aquactinics are 1" tall, I just looked... Sorry for the late reply but I just got home. My guess is that the Icecaps are similar to the Aquactinics and are close to a inch tall. So you are building a retro or gutting a fixture.... or both?

Ok thanks! I already ordered the ones that are 1" because when I called icecap and asked about the dimensions they told me that the slr's are 1". I am gutting my fixture and building a retro so I will be able to put some of my sps corals in the lower half of the tank.
