I have just recently started cultivating phytoplankton and copepods, i have the phyto on 18/6 (heh....that's my veg cycle for another green plant)

In a 20 gallon long tank and a 6500 power compact.

the copepods are in a 5 gallon tank with chaetomorpha and some phytoplankton

I have brine shrimp in a 10 gallon, with some phytoplankton for food.

So can anyone tell me if this set up is any good? (will be upgrading in the fututre)

If its not can you all let me know of some improvements ?

    Thanks

Well, IMO, it all depends on density of each culture.
I can grow the phyto (nanochloropsis) in 20g buckets or 26g garbage pails using "spot" lights. Actually the low 20g bucket I can use "flood" lights.
I found using shallow trays worked best for copepods like tiggers and even nitokra lacustris and I fed them spirulina flake food and powder.
For brine shrimp, culturing in any meaningful densities it can be more challenging.
Low density cultures work pretty easy though.
