Our corals are by far the most expensive things...even though our live rock is worth about $800 (we only bought about 20lbs of live...the rest was base. It's live now! :D)

Let's see...we have a Tubs Blue Zoa colony that I counted about 175 heads on (some are baby heads). People sell those for $10-$15 per polyp easy. So with that calculation our whole colony is worth about $1700 - $2500 depending on how you see it. Obviously no one would pay that much for it. But we only bought it as a frag of about 5 heads, and we could sell of frags of it for about $15 a head. Maybe less so people buy more :D But we're not fragging it yet, sorry :p

Our purple tipped hammer coral we paid about $20 per head for 2 heads. Now it has 20 heads hahaha. So it's about $400 in worth. Our tubs blues are my moms pride and joy...something about our water makes zoanthids grow like nuts. It's awesome. We have another colony that I would guesstimate (comparing to the size of our tubs colony) is at at least 800 to 1000 heads. Also our orange Yuma shrooms can be worth alot...depending on who buys. And we have one giant shroom, with a medium sized one and 3 small quarter sized ones. For a total of 5 of them. We paid $20 for the big one (who has since then made 4 others), but some sellers ask $60 or higher per mushroom. We also have a yellow and a black sun coral, but those two aren't anywhere near big enough to be worth anything much right now. Maybe in a few years :)

If you want to count what a coral is worth now at so much an inch or head, then I have Quite a bit of $$ in my tank. The awesome thing is that most of my stuff started as tiny frags and is all growed up now;)

please tell me your not one of those "it goes for $100 an inch online" ;)

Definitely seeding your tank with frags is the way to go IMO.

LOL, I am usually pretty good with my pricing on frags, but I do it as a hobbyist, and not as a way to make $$.

I won't charge more than 20 bucks for a frag ( usually half that depending on what I am selling), as long as it isn't a small colony. Then that demands more $$.

I have been told several times that I charge too little for what I sell.
