Ah, I read that the equivalent weight of carbonates was 30.004. I guess thats where my math was off. I had stupidly dosed reef builder because I thought my calcium was a little high because it was cloudy. I didnt have a test kit yet cause I was broke as crap. I'm a retard. Thank god I havent really stocked this thing yet.

Thanks for the replies. I'm in the process of changing the water now

I was wondering why my calcium was low as all heck. it was at 380 a week before I got dose happy with the reef bulder. I wondered why I couldn't get it above 200::)

    Again, I'm a retard

good news, i'd probly do 2 more WC in the next 3 days.. should get you around 10dkh range which is a good safe range.. not to low / not to high..

Yeah, so ends my disaster with carbonate hardness. Course it doesn't help that my test kit is pretty lame. It's like "stop when the test reads Yellow/Lime Green." "uh, which is it cause from lime green it takes 3 or 4 more drops to get to yellow"

Good news Ninja. As with this site, you get many differing opinions on what works, but we all try to steer people away from things that are just plain wrong.

    Great job Rida :)

Got it down to 12.88 dKH today. Should it be fine to let it drop by itself? I had it at 14 and added calcium to drop it to where it is now

Sorry to break off topic and ask a stupid question. But what is the math done to get dKh from mEq/l. Im at 3 mEq/L. Is that suitable???
