    i don't have a canopy too
    and my stocking limit is kinda done i think. the maroon's gonna grow huge ;D

    good news! the starfish FINALLY MOVED today ;D
    he moved like 5 cm away and attached itself to an empty rock space on my lavender mushroom , probably so that i can't see him :p

    maybe it is taking it's time to assimilate itself with new accommodation...give it some time...

    I have a red starfish about the same size too. LFS said they don't get any larger than that. It took mine a while before he moved around too, now he has been all over the tank. Mostly sticks to the rocks and walls though, doesn't stir up the sand at all.

    Thats good, I have about 3 red ones and 2 brown spotted ones in my 85g and I have never lost one. They have been very hardy and dont cause any problems. You will start to enjoy him when he comes out and feeds. He does tend to freak people out, LOL
