OK, I have heard that when you mount your bulbs they should face the front and rear of the tank for optimal light dispersion. Is this true? I've got my two facing each other in a 60"x18"x24" tank with 4 65W PCs. They are in a 48"x 12" wide refletor that came with the PC's. I just put the MH's in between the PC's at each end. Is it better to turn the MH's so they face the front and put them in a parabolic reflector and place all 4 PC's in the center or just leave it as is? It moving them is better, where can I get 2 inexpensive parabolic reflectors?

That's an interesting question and if memory serves, the back to front alignment is preferred because of the light spread - it fits the tank better. However I am really second guessing myself. I messed around with this concept with a pendant I used to have by shooting it at the wall at different positions.

I found this and don't have time to read it now, but I think it will help you:
