So I have a 45 gallon tank and I move the power head around every few days and point them at different things. Oh they are maxijet1200's mostly they are on the opposite sides of the tank i and i generally try to point one towards the back and one towards the front. Thinking the swirling would be good. Also I think I have worms in my live rock that create long poop like strands that pile up in a few places on the rocks. So every couple days I blow that off and the water goes all cloudy and then settles. Is this something I should or shouldn't be doing? I have heard people mention it before but wasen't sure if I should be doing all the time or not.

Also I have a 120 watt heater that I keep in the back middle of the tank and I dont know where I should put the temperature probe its currenty just suction cupped onto one of the sides. But dont know how consistent water temperature is around the whole tank. Should it be really low?

And since I am cycling should i not clean out the sponge in the mechanical filter? My water tests dont show any ammonia or Nitrites PH seems right. But as most people say here dont rush the cycle. But also if theres a lot of waste in that sponge shouldnt i be getting rid of it?

    Glen.

I would suggest just letting the filter do its thing and build up I wouldnt suggest changing or cleaning the sponge since there is nothing in the tank I dont think you have to worry about it hope that helps
