Hey guys finally got my tank moved. It had to be moved because it was in front of the couch and I got halides. When you sat on the couch you were almost blinded by the light. I took out my DSB and replaced it with starboard plastic sheeting. Starboard sheeting is used on boats. You just get it cut to fit in the bottom of your tank. It's just like having a bare bottom tank, but you don't have to worry about rocks falling and busting the glass or light escaping the tank through the bottom. During my move I lost a sailfin tang, a cleaner shrimp, and my pair of ocellaris. I felt like I lost some of my kids. I watched them grow from being little squirts to being fish with their own little personalities.

I'm very happy with all my equipment listed below in my signature. Everythings up and ready for SPS now. Darin(captivereefs) hooked me up with most of my equipment. Thanks Darin! I just basically wanted to brag a little. Sorry, I couldn't help it. I'm trying to get a nice digital camera, but after spending thousands on equipment I think I'll have to hold off. So pictures coming soon.

Reefman, we feel your sorrow man. People who don't have fish, just don't understand because they can't physically touch or play with them. The animals that we have in our tanks each come with their own personality that will be missed when their gone. I'm truly sorry for your loss. :'(

Thanks cannon. I think I'm going to replace my Ocellaris with a pair Gold Striped Maroons.

man iknow exactly how you feel, i kept a clown trigger for almost 10 years, she has always been my favorite fish, she went from about 3 inches to almost 10. when i lost her, i cried like a baby, YES, I CRIED OVER A FISH. thats been over 8 years ago and i still can't talk about her for long. she was big, ate the heater, but she also fed a blind pink tailed trigger. gold striped maroons are great looking fish, just remember that they are quite a bit more aggresive(especially in pairs) but other than that they are very hardy. they hardly ever drop their slime coat when they come in(white stripes seem to drop their coats quite frequently)and they are not picky about their anemones( we have had them at the lfs i work for accepting condys).

    Hey Reefman,
    Sorry for your loss.
Moving your tank and going bare bottom....... :)
So are you going primarily to an SPS reef? Just wonderin about flow. With only 2 maxi-jets you are going to need to kick it up in the tank. Anyway keep us posted on the progress.
    Good luck, Scott 8)

Well I am going SPS. I just got a Hagen Aquaclear 802 powerhead and it's in there now. I'm going to try to get away with the flow I now have, but if I can't I'll pick up a Turbele stream. The tanks been up and running for about a week now. I'm happy with everything so far. My mated pair of tank raised yellow striped maroons are on their way from Dr. Mac and should arrive tomorrow morning as well as a few additions to my clean up crew. I also added a Crocea clam a couple of days ago. It's doing very well.
