I currently have my 10 gallon set up on my dresser in my bedroom. I would like to move it onto a small table in my living room, which is about 25 feet away all together.

My plan was to siphon some of the water out into a 5 gallon bucket, slide my dresser across the floor, and lift the tank up and set it on the new table. Is that a bad idea? Or could I do it no problem. Thoughts please.

Live sand, 10 lbs of rock, 2 yellowtail damsels, a few frags, turbo snail, some hermit crabs. Not much yet, thats why I wanted to move it now, before I got too much into it.

You may need to remove a bit more water, but as long as you can lift the weight and handle it carefully without hurting yourself, you'll be fine. Any exposed frags/corals will be ok for such a short duration, as well. I've moved partially emptied established tanks before with no issues, including a 29g (with help from a friend).

I also successfully moved my JBJ 28 nano. Removed 15 gallons of water, two people carried the tank, one on the stand. Back up and running in 10 minutes.

I have to do this with my 10g QT tank and my 75g when I move literally a half mile down the street. Good Times!
