I will be moving and driving a 3-4 day trip. I am selling my fish but I was wondering if I can put my live rock which has alot of coral attached to it and place them in large insulated boxes with heat packs and fill it with water. I know I can change the heat packs out every day but without a powerhead are my coral doomed?
Any coral I can get off the rock I am putting them in small individual bags as if I was shipping them to someone but I am concerned about my rock with the attached coral.

Is this possible? Anyone tried it?

Also, until I can get the large tank cycled again, can I put all the coral in a 10 gallon with no live rock or sand until the large tank cycles? I know it shouldnt be a long cycle since the rock will be submerged and heated, but the sand wont, it will just have a layer of water over it.

Im also wondering what would be better for the sand. Keep it in the tank with a little water hovering over it, or take the sand out of the tank and put it into its own heated container.
Im thinking that if I touch the sand its going to take the cycle longer once I get to my destination.

sand...I would toss it and get new. Just my opinion. I got all new sand when I transferred over my tank just to be safe. On a long trip like that I would think that it would be a breeding ground for bad things

can you fill the tank half way in the truck and keep the coral in there with a heater and ph if you get the power inverter? Just a thought.... Good luck with the move.
