moving coral to another tank.

after succesfully killing two damsels in my 25g tank i came to the conclusion that i want to take it down and just keep 2.

I do have a rock with zoas on that tank as of now but im worried that if i transfer it to my 29, i may get an infestation of what ever i had in my 25.
so question is.

how can i transfer the good stuff without the bad stuff? ( i have lugols solution at hand if a dip is required)

 

You could that and maybe give them a bath in Furan 2 also which will kill either gram+ or gram- bacteria.

 

What type of infestation did you have?

 

i dont have furan at hand. will it be ok if i just do the lugols bath?

or should i get the furan?

 

it looked like crypto.. but it could of been something else.
( it was a mistake in my part because i didnt get healthy specimens from the start). but it looked like ich, although the fish died rather quickly.

so could of been velvet? or they were already going at the store and they just died at my house. im not sure.

 

Ah.. I thought you didn't know what had killed the fish so was just covering bases. No need for Furan if you suspect MI. A Lugol's bath should kill any parasites. It's about all you can do I would think.
