So, i have a 125gal tank, only has a Humu Trigger, Foxface Lo, and Porcupine Puffer in it. bunch of LR and about 4" Sand.

We are planning to move in the next few months, its quit a bit of a drive, 8 hours, probably longer in a moving truck with our stuff. My question is, is there a good way to move the fish? Im afraid the drive is to long for them and they would either run out of air or get way to stressed out.

Also, i am afraid of my tank going into another cycle once i set it back up, will moving the sand/rocks in 5gal buckets with water from the tank still kill the bacteria's that i need in there?

Is there a good way to do this or should i just find the fish a good home and start over? I hate to do that, we're pretty attached. (to the puffer anyways)

    Thanks guys.

Umm... hmm.. tossing about ideas. You could get a power converter and run a powerhead in the bucket to keep them oxygenated.. just watch water temp...
    this may work

they move fish half way round the world in plastic bags in polystyrene boxes
    (insulation)
they use oxygen tanks to fill the bags with air (rather than just capturing fresh air like they do for short trips from the LFS)

so your 8 hour journey should be OK for the fish IMO - large tubs and battery operated air pumps for the fish would be a good idea or some of those fishing boxes with the insulated walls ? they have them here maybe you can get them there?

rocks - yes same again - large buckets with water and air to keep them oxgenated would be a good idea

Id throw away your sand bed or CC base and when you re set tank up - put a new one in
