So I am moving to AZ in a few weeks and need to take about 40 lbs. of LR with me. I have done this once before when I was new to the hobby and I was told to just wrap it up in wet newspaper and put it all in a plastic garbage bag. It seemed to work ok before and I actually had a few crabs that suvived a 36 hour drive like that.

Is there anything wrong in doing this or is there a better way?

thats how some places ship it. personally id put it in buckets with water in them so the die off is minimal

As said, if you can, the best thing to do is just keep it submerged, but if that's not practical, keeping it wet and damp will be just fine. You may just need to expect a little die off.

Keeping it submerged won't be a problem. I am driving out to AZ from PA so I'll just keep them in a bucket with H2O. A little die off is expected...the new tank will have to cycle once I get there and do the build ne way! Thanks all!!
