Ok here in about 2 or 3 weeks im going to be moving out of the apartment that im in now into a house. I was woundering if anyone had some info on this. I have a 90 gal. with a 30 gal. sump around 120 total gal. I have a few fish and some corals to move. I also have a 55 gal. just sitting (well has water in it now b/c i was going to make a species only tank but anyway) with nothing in it but water at the moment. I also have 2 32 gal. rubbermade trash cans that i use for water now. Luckly its only 1 min. up the road (not even that really so not to long of a drive lol). Let me know what and how to go about doing this. Thanks in advance and sorry for being so long. Double karma to who evers idea i use.

Note: i have 120 lbs of rock and would i have to take the sand out??

I'd leave the sand in and try not to disturb it as least as you can, keep the rocks in water. bucket or tubs and lots of them..... have make up water ready where you are moving to, cause you always seem to have less when you're done and towels, towels, towels! and a mop with cleaner and water for when you're done:) since you arne't going that far you might not need a heater and air pump in your stuff as long as you do it all within 4 hours.

I agree, but make the tank either the first thing you do or the last, so you can do it all in one shot and not worry about your livestock while moving stuff around.

I planned on doing it last. Here is kinda a short thing on what i was going to do. Remove 50% of water from 90 gal. and put it in 55 at new place. Remove the rocks into a container and cover with water from tank. Romove fish and coral and put them in 55 at new place. Remove the rest of the water out of 90 gal. and put a little more in 55 if needed. Move 90 gal. and lvl out and add about 25% of water then add rocks. After rocks are in and positioned add the rest of the water with the fish going next. Ok now it sounds easy on paper but hahahahaha ya right lol. Im not looking forward to moving it at all. If there is any suggestions on things i should change let me know.

sounds like a good plan. also plan for the worst.... 4 hours is what I've noticed tank inhabitants can go and still be ok. Once you get passed the 4 hours you need an air pump & heater. Speaking from experience....:)
