i'm both happy and sad to say i am moving. happy because i get to re-arrange the tank, and i'll live in a bigger place! sad because I have to MOVE the tank....

my new appartment is upstairs on the second floor, the only exterior wall is directly infront of a window. Its made of the kind of glass that they put in showers thats blurry so you cant see through (brain fart at the moment, forgot the name of it!).

I want to place the tank next to an exterior wall because of stability of the concrete and knowing there are beams somewhere near it, as opposed to an interior wall, which is sheetrock and the floors are not concrete ( I live in the same building right now but in a downstairs appartment, and I always hear the lady above me walk around with her heels in the morning before she leaves for work!)

My tank is 90 gallons, with a 55 gallon sump that will be filled 1/2 way. about 100lbs of rock, and 60lbs of sand between the dbs in the fuge and the display. I think the exterior wall would be a good choice, correct?

I'm only slightly hesitant about putting it near a window. Obviously natural sunlight is best for corals, and I will find ways of battling the now-and-again algae blooms that I have heard happens with sunlight, but other than that are there any other issues anyone can think of with putting it dead center in front of a window where the light is visible but skewed because of the glass?

Also my apartment now has tiles, and my new place will have carpet similar to burbur (sp?) should I take any extra steps when setting up the stand because of the carpet? I'm a total upstairs tank/carpet w/tank NEWB.

any opinions would be awesome, as I am starting to move everything TOMOROW! AAARRRGGGG! lol ;D

yes it has its up and downs. Personally I wouldn't bother with attempting it unless you have PERFECT parameters.

Yes. The color of the lighting isn't necessarily great for color, though. Your tank would only be visible during daylight hours too. I know I keep my normal cycle from 10 am to 10 pm, so I can actually enjoy it while I'm home.

Water temperature could also be an issue.
