A couple of weeks ago I put a new stand under my tank..not exactly the same situation as you but I still had to take eeevverrything out! I just put my water and rocks in a 40 gallon storage bin and livestock in a 10 gallon tank..everything went smoothly and I did everything in just once night..so your method should go well! Maybe this was just really dumb of me at the time but about 1/4 of the way through scooping the water back in the tank I hooked my siphon hose to a powerhead and just sat back and relaxed! lol good luck!

That's good to hear that your transfer went smoothly! The powerhead idea is great. I usually just use a siphon hose, but I'm getting tired of tasting saltwater.

Finished!!!! Everyone is in their new home and seems happy and healthy. I did start taking pics, but kind of forgot as I got more involved in the move. I'll try to post some when I get home tonight.
Everything went pretty smooth, except for underestimating how many coolers/buckets I would need for temporary water holders. That and arranging my LR in the new tank. I spent about 2 hours Saturday night just placing my rock, woke up Sunday and decided I hated it and spent another 2 hours re-doing it all.
I was able to transfer almost all of my existing water and only wound up using 5gal of new saltwater. The fish were only in buckets for about a half hour, and I was able to transfer all my corals, snails and shrimp straight to the new tank. All in all it went as good or better than I expected.
