So i havent set up my tank yet...I have everything but the skimmer and RO/DI sand or lights. Im going to buy my skimmer and RO/DI this week.

I might be moving in less than 6 months for work...Should i wait until i move to set up my tank or should i set it up now and hope it will be easy to move it.

    I have a 120 DT and about and about 120 gallon Fuge/sump

I would cycle your rock in the tank bare bottom. When you move you should only have a mini cycle and will be able to get it fully set up and start stocking faster. To cycle your rock you shouldn't need your skimmer or RO. IMO it's better to cycle without skimmer anyway and tap water should be just fine for your cycle.

I was thinking about getting a 20 lb bag of live sand jut for the bottom to keep the reflection down. Then when i move i can throw out the sand and replace it with some new sand?

I will put in some live rock with the 20 lbs of live sand.

Will i have to cycle my tank again when i put in new live sand?

That should work just fine. You don't need lights on for the cycle. In fact, you could even blanket the tank to keep out light and minimize any algae growth.

You should try to get all your rock in at this point so it will all be cycled and ready to go when you move.

I would expect a very minimal mini cycle. Your live rock should be strong enough filtration by then that your re-cycle should be over in a couple of weeks tops.

Yep. You could probably add some of the hardier fish if you were planning on stocking them. Clown fish or damsels would be fine through the mini cycle.
