So thinking about getting a second mp10.

The one i have now is an mp10es, but i want to upgrade it to an mp10w es.

    I have a 75 gal tank.

So what would be the best placement if i upgraded them both to the wireless version? Would i be ok if they weren't both wireless? Could i just put them both on lagoon mode and have them both on the back of the tank facing forward?

    Any ideas?

If you leave them both non wireless, but you would never get the full potential out of the pumps.

    I vote upgrade to wireless.

The only reason you want wireless is when there are two mp10s that you want to communicate. They would both require wireless modules.

    Edit: maybe I'm wrong

I would probably put them on opposite ends of the tank, maybe like 6 inches below the water. Just mess around with them till you get it how you like it.

with wireless, they will run sync, anti sync, and be much more effective when running the eco smart functions.

Looked it up and I was right. The only point in having wireless is if both powerheads were wireless so they could communicate with each other.

I have two wireless mp10s, one on either side of the tank. I run them in both reefcrest 60% of the time and lagoonal the remaining 40% of the time (roughly)

The "how many" and "placement", imo anyway, depends on the livestock and the acquascape. I've often thought about adding a third mp10 to the back wall of my 75g but I really don't have the need yet. My plan is mostly softies and lps but if I change my mind and add a few SPS then I'll likely add a third mp10 to the back wall of the tank for the additional flow.

If I were to add a third mp10, I think I'd prefer a wireless model to connect with the other two but I really don't think it would be an issue if it was a non wireless model, at least not in my tank anyway.

If you refer to the users manual, you'll see that opposite ends is the recommendation from Ecotech.
