Wow, those bulbs really are potent! My mushroom took a turn for the worse, shrinking and shriveling to near nothing right after the lights came on. I also had a sudden outbreak of coralline (came in on the CuC), so I didn't want to alter the photoperiod. I moved the coral to the bottom of the tank with no change, so I placed a piece of cardboard on the glass cover to shade it from direct light. It finally started opening up today, and aside from a small patch that's discolored (possibly from bleaching), it's looking a little better, now.

Awesome Mr.Bill! I am another that prefers the KISS methods of reefkeeping and I love the softies as well, and a huge fan of cabbage and toadies (look at my avatar, lol). The tank is lookin great, congrats on the new adds.

Edit-what color is the colored feather duster?Hard to tell with that nice blue hue,but i just lost a small chartreuse green duster several weeks ago,it left it's soft tube and hasn't been seen since.Did it show up in your tank? lol

    Thank you very much!

Sorry to hear you lost yours. Are you sure there was no foul play? They're usually easy to find outside the tube with that big, frilly crown.

Mine is pink with a narrow purple ring just below the tips, so no, not the same one. lol

Your tank is looking great. I didn't catch what kind of HOB filter you are using.

    You're welcome.

Nope,no foul play that i'm aware of,the search continues.I am imagining it possibly died and my massive cuc cleared the evidence.

    Thank you, Smitty.

It's a Whisper 60. I was using it mainly for the 330gph surface circulation, although I do now have media bags with GAC in it. I learned a long time ago that everything you trap with mechanical filtration is food for something in your tank, and it still breaks down into DOCs, creating nitrates. Much easier to let it flow back into the tank to be eaten rather than cleaning sponges/pads 3+ times per week. lol
