Hey guys, first off this is my first post, my names Colton!

Ok so i just picked up a fluval edge from a friend, its set up as saltwater. Anyways have some start polyps and zenia and zoanthids along with 2 clowns, sea urchin, brain coral, rose tip anemone.

So the tank has upgraded fixtures to the MR16 leds, it only has 2. I have 3 more MR16 fixtures i am going to mount under the hood.

Will 5 MR16 LEDs be enough for higher light corals? Or will these leds simply not do it?

    THanks guys!

Link the light system and you'll probably have more luck! I have never heard of MR16.

5 might be too many honestly. I know Orphek makes (or made) MR16's that were on the reef spectrum side. Search for those...get some specs and report back. ;D

5 Would probably be okay. I've seen people try to just replace the two that come with it and that isn't really enough coverage for corals IMHO. With the 5 it will still be flub to get light to the front and especially front corners.

I can see how normally that would be a problem but I cut out the back of the hood so that it can slide forward so the 3 extra leds would actually be sitting onto of the glass infronr of the opening.
