sorry about your loss, but it sounds like it was just a fluke thing. If parems are fine and the other fish are well, I am sure it was just something with that fish, maybe he was older when you got him.

Sorry about your loss Kacy. I stinks regardless, but can sometimes be harder when they otherwise have been happy and healthy. I agree with Schmakel, think it may just have been one of those fluke things.

I was talking to a manager of a reputable LFS in my area a while back when I was considering getting a flame angel when I was offered a good price for one just brought in. (Only 20 bucks) I talked to him about what his opinion on the fish was and he said it was probably caught in Indonesia and caught with cyanide or some other chemical then drugged on its way over. This wreaks havoc on the fish internally. So I steered clear of that purchase. I dont know much about multicolor angels but if the capture ethics are anything like that in Indonesia I wouldnt be surprised if it had something to do with its demise. Im sorry to hear though Kacy. :-/

Thanks everyone. I'm so still so bummed. I keep going to the tank to watch him and then remember he's gone. :(

    Tank looks so empty now!

Kacy sorry for your loss, i have never had a angelfish and didn't know all thats being brought up about the sudden death that can happen with these fish. the multi color angels are so beautiful. each time i see one at the local stores I'm tempted to purchase one.

did yours pick at your corals at all?

He was in a FOWLR. I've heard they are one of the *worst* with nipping so I put him in my fish only. But he was so gorgeous! However, I've had two other dwarf angels in my reef (flame right now) and neither touched coral or clams.
