Right now I have two misbar oscellaris clowns that are in my 120 G tank. Is it possible to keep another pair of clowns, such as a pair of platinum clowns, naked clowns, picasso clowns, true percs, or the black clowns in the same tank? Would this cause aggression problems since they are a part of the damsel family?

I was just wondering and any insightful answers are much appreciated.

It is possible to keep more but be very cautious with it. What I have heard helps is if the established pair is hosting something in the tank, to put that coral or whatever it is on one end of the tank so they predominantly stay at that end. Then have options of things for the new clowns to host at the opposite end. Some species are more aggressive than others but from what I've heard, the ocellaris are relatively peaceful compared to some others.

IMO I wouldn't risk it, 120 isn't that large. Ultimately it's up to you but there will be some risk that they won't get along for sure. Even if they do fine for a year or two it's impossible to say, with any fish really, whether they'll get along long-term, but I think it's more likely that you will have problems with multiple pairs of clowns in a 120.

I have 3 pairs of clownfish in my 187, maroon clark's and saddleback. obviously the maroons are the king and queen, but they don't bother the saddleback pair , only the clarks. the order of addition was saddleback - maroon - clark's . First few weeks for the clark's were tough , lots of chasing and fin nipping. but now, after 2 months it's just slight chasing :) for tame species like the occelaris , you're quite safe!

I actually have a buddy of mine that has a mated pair hosting in a rose BTA for sale. The clowns are only $150 for both! The drawback is the rose BTA is flourescent red and extremely beautiful, therefore it too is $150!
