I'm very new to LED. I just received my 120 watt reef breeders value led. So I got something to hold it up around an inch from the glass. It's a 24 inch by 24 inch cube and 24 inches tall. It's only been two days and the dimming settings all the way up and my toad stool has always kind of looked brown with these polyps out with my PC but growth was never a problem. Two days and my toad stool is shriveling up. When I got it at the store is was pitch yellow. So can someone tell me how much more powerful this led is to my coral life PC. I really don't understand led at all. Amazing color though. Also my light hour is the blue LEDs come on at 6 am and at 12 all come on, at 7 only the blue is on at 8 lights are out. Should I start the lights at 11 instead of 6.

It's probably about 3-4 times more powerful... I would crank it down below half maybe to a third.

I would turn it down considerably during acclimation. I think I started at around 25%. I have my light about 12 inches above the class top and they are at about 75% output. T might even cut back on the light cycle by a couple hours. I have my mine running just under 10 hours.

+1. You can bleach your whole tank if you don't start slow. I'm glad you like the lights!

Yea start below 50% then every week turn it up like 10% till you get where you want it to be.

    +1 to all the above.

FWIW, PCs produce the lowest PAR levels of any reef light on the market. When I upgraded from a 65w PC to 48w (2x24) T5HO, I had the same problem and had to reduce my light schedule to 5 hours per day, then move up 1/2 hour per week. With your LEDs, you may never reach 100% output on a 10 hour photoperiod, especially with softies.

BTW, you should also consider raising it a bit higher, like maybe a foot.

These lights are amazing and bring out colors in areas I never thought there was. I already have placed my order for another for my 90 gallon upgrade. I'm putting one on each side of the tank for the 90 gallon tank. The dimensions for the tank is 48 x 18 x 24. At that size a tank are these lights powerful enough to take clams and hard corals?

They cover a 24" cube for sps and clams, even more for lps and softies.
