    Parasitic species are mostly external parasites of fish or crustaceans and feed on blood. The larvae of the Gnathiidae family and adult cymothoidids have piercing and sucking mouthparts and clawed limbs adapted for clinging onto their hosts.

    I guess they can have claws.. I am not saying you have a parasitic isopod in your tank. I don't know a bunch about isopods.

    never seen a female with eggs yet though

    Yup just common Isopods. Parasitic Isopods wouldn't survive long without a host anyways. Let alone reproduce and explode in population.

    Just cuz you don't see the eggs doesn't mean they're not reproducing ;)
