mushroom ate peppermint

    came hotme today and my mushroom's mouth was down and he looked very fat and then while working on my 45 gallon (mushroom is in the 10) my little brother called me over because the mushroom was spitting some thing out and it was the shell and what looked like some flesh of the strimp is it possible for a mushroom to eat a strimp i know it was'nt a molt because he molted 2 days ago and i dont think he would molt that fast.

    also anyone know the exact type of mushroom this is i t was an impluse buy as my first coral 5 months ago and was about 1" around

    I looked in every book I have and did a google search. Everything just says "red mushroom." Am I right in looking at the picture that it is red?
    Oh and poor little peppermint. Shrimp are VERY soft right after a shedding cycle. It doesnt surprise me, but sorry for your loss.

    Yes, certain mushrooms have been known to eat other tank inhabitants. They are anemones after all. Sorry to hear about your shrimp :(

    Sorry, but thats funny. Even my stupid ribbon eel cant catch shrimp. I'll give shrooms more credit now. Gonna have to place shrooms with puffers now. LOL.
