ok i just got a shroom and a pep shrimp both were looking good at the lfs i got home acclimated both the same way just let them get the temp of my water first that was about 650 i went to walk my dogs came back that was about 830ish mabey fourty anywho i put some water in the bags and got ready for work i work overnight i figure that will be long enough fo them to get it together to be put in in the morning thats ten hours man that they were in the bag. i get home the were closed up i turn my light on for a sec to see if the pep was still alive and he was looking just fine and so was the shroom. so i let the pep out he starts doing his job asap.
then the shroom was starting to open it fully opened even with me touching it i put it on a rock and my dogs jumped on me at the wrong time i knocked it over and sand got stuck to it ever since then i went to sleep thinking it will probably just slime it off or something but it didnt its still in the same way it was after i knocked it over can it recover or will it die.
it is a i think green crump shroom and alot of the green thing are look detached and flowing in the current

You left them in the bag for 10+ hours? That is a very long time. I've had corals knocked over before and usually it's not a big deal. I would try to blow the sand off of the mushroom with a powerhead or turkey baster. Mushrooms are pretty resilient. However, you may have injured it when it was knocked over. Did it hit a rock or just the sand?

I only acclimate for a total of about 45min to an hour. For corals it's not as bad, but with fish and inverts the O2 level gets depleted relatively quickly which causes stress.

Mushrooms can come back from stress pretty easilly. I would place the shroom in an area with little current and a good amount of light but not too much. Give him some time to adjust. Hopefull he will pull through. My shrooms go through a lot of abuse and stress primarily bc i keep moving them around to new places in the tank and they do just fine. Update us in a few days and let us know...

If by "sun" you mean Sol and not your tank lights, I'd try to block that light as it can cause you algae problems later.

(Sol being the name I'm using for our star, "the sun")

10 hours for floating is a really really long time. I'd be more concerned with whatever is in the bags being blasted by my lights for that long at that close of a range. Sounds like you did this at night, so probably less bad at that time.

I wouldn't worry at all about sand being on a shroom. I've used tweezers to pick up a shroom before. Pinched the crap out of it too. It had no problem and opened up nicely later.

I also have gotten fairly sick after handling shrooms (SW tank variety ;)) and now always use gloves. Always. So just FYI on that while you're messing with them.
