    are you kidding me? buddy have you ever had a leather near some gsp? i had my devilshand touch some gsp and the fingers on the leather began to bleach and die... so you tell me why that happened you think

    No, i'm not kidding you. Green star polyps do not sting other corals, they can, however, grow over them and smother them out. Something else happened to your leather, and GSP's a foot away from this toadstool certainly had no part in the damage that has taken place.

    no other part of the leather was dying except for the parts which were in direct contact with the polyps. if it wasnt the polyps then what? ireally want to understand.

    apparently im the only one who has seen this happen...

    i need to apologize in advance for derailing this thread. sorry chad

    O.k. I'll help you out if I can. When the leather was in contact with the GSP, it isn't that they were stinging it, it was just that the leather was annoyed by it and more than likely formed a (for lack of a better word) callous. It was protecting itself from the agitation.
