My mushroom leather of a year has dislodged from its rock and the base is all crumbly. Pieces just come from it, further and further up the truck.
Is there anything I can do to help it or is it done? I put it in a tank on its own so as not to harm the whole 90 gal. tank. I tried yesterday to place it by a rock, thinking it will attach. No luck, the bottom was just more rotted away.
Can I do anything to it? Can I cut the bad into the good section and place near a rock? Or is it done?

leathers are easy to cut and propogate. but you might have a more major issue, why is it dying in the first place? If your water chem is off, then it doesnt matter what you do.

My phosphates were a little high the pass few days. I just put stuff in the Overflow to lower the phosphate. Mag. was a little low but working on that too. The bottom of the leather looks rooted.

you will probably have to cut out the rotted part and attach him back to another rock. it takes a few weeks to attach. Has he been harassed by something to keep him closed?

I did cut off the bad section at the bottom. I than placed it in the bottom tank, which is my refugium on top of a rock. I figured I'll leave it there to see what happens. Is there a way to attach it to a rock?

I placed mine on the sand bed in my tank, and I used a glue that didnt work to good. others use rubberbands or string. be careful with sticking them in the fuge, cause it doesnt have proper lighting (usually).
