I have a Purple mushroom that is now loose from the rock and sitting on the substrate in the back of the tank away from the lights and let me say it is on the loose totally my fault  and now I need to get it to reattach to something so I can put it in a spot to get more light and be visible. Any suggestions?

Get some super glue and put it on the foot of the mushroom and glue it to a piece of rubble. You can do this outside of the tank with the mushroom out of water and it will be fine. Just be quick about it and don't have it out of the water for more than about 5 minutes (a huge window of opportunity). Then simply place the mushroom where you want it in your aquarium and viola! You are all set.

dab of gel super glue and a rock to put it on:)

put a dab on the rock and wait a few maybe 10-15 seconds, then attach the shroom wait 2 seconds then dip it into some tank water you have to cool it off

might be a good time to cut it in half, then you have 2 mushrooms.

That's how you do it! It isn't really needed though, you'll have two soon enough anyway. I don't attach mine, I just throw 'em in a tank (thanks That Guy for the suggestion). I have a purple one that attached itself to a bare rock in the shade. It has tripled in size. They are pretty light forgiving.

I've tried the super glue method once but the mushroom ended up dying. This is what I do now:
get a small container (cottage cheese etc.), make sure it's cleaned, of course. Fill the bottom with some rubble, place in the aquarium, and put the loose mushroom inside. Depending on the flow where you position the container, you may or may not need to add a meshy screen on top to keep the mushroom in. In a few days the mushroom will attach itself to a piece of rubble and then you can position it wherever you like in your tank.

I don't know how you glue a slimy shroom? most, including myself, says it can't be done. I second a small container, punched full of holes, rubble, add shroom(s) top with bridal veil.
