hi, we bought these two mushrooms from liveaquara about 2 weeks ago.

They have always been happy, this morning we woke up and the one in the back (in my pictures) the middle was gone i noticed something white coming from the middle and its broken into 2 parts now, the one in front of it has a white area....

Any ideas if I should just take it out of the tank?

It sounds like something picked on it and stressed it out and now one is splitting into two! If your params are ok they should reason their guts and become 2 shrooms! Did you change flow or anything recently? What are your params?

All of my params are good, my phosphates are a little elevated .26 but i have some GFO coming to help with that.

I did recently in the last week add 2x MP10ES Wireless pumps...

    Otherwise nothing else is different.

Prob the new flow! I'd make sure they're in a lower to mid flow area!

    I agree.

Also, regular water changes will provide all the supplements that are needed for tank parameters, such as iodine. It's very easy to overdose iodine and that can kill many things in your tank.

if you dont test for something, dont ever dose it. Iodine can be very dangerous and should never be dosed if you dont know the levels. Do a water change and it will replenish the iodine.

The white stuff is the guts of the mushroom. Something either irritated it, OR the mushroom is trying to eat something or sting something near it. Is there any other corals near it that might be playing war with?

I dont worry too much about this

I never put anything in the water I cannot know first what value I have to start out with!

I haven't done my weekly water change yet, there was nothing by it as its on its own rock on its own , I did rearrange the rocks a little bit and it could have been touched in a way it didn't like..

I contacted Liveaquara they didn't even really seem to care about it and refunded my money lol which isn't what I wanted lol

Could it dislike my LED lighting? I don't know what kind of lighting it had previous to me

how high is it in the tank? shrooms seem to like low-mid lighting so the sanded seems to be a good place.
