Mushroom reproduction

Can a single head mushroom reproduce on it's own? Does it really take 2 to mingle hahaha... I have 1 mushroom head on a rock... wondering if it will multiply or just be a loner ...

 

yes it will, it streaches out from th foot and makes babie mushrooms.

 

I was just about to ask the same question. I have a single red mushroom on LR. The live rock is on a sloping angle, the other day i noticed that the base of the mushroom seems to be moving up the rock a little. I vaguely remember reading somewhere that when they move smaller mushrooms are left in the original position.

Have i understood this correctly, when it moves it leaves baby mushrooms behind? Just one baby mushroom or multiple? Does it move sometimes but not reproduce or does it only move when reproducing?

i have had a mushroom for 6 months or better and doesnt do a thing,it gets bigger and smaller but does not reproduce

 

I started with one and he kept letting go and floating around the tank, then one day found a spot he liked. Then a couple weeks later split into 4 shrooms. I think they will start splitting when they are in a spot they like and are happy.

Well the one did finally separate and is forming the top now. ( The one in the CENTER)
As you can see I am going to have 2 more in the next week or two..
