Well I did the netting but my rics didn't attach to the substrate so now they are netted on top of a rock and I hope they attach. I would check in a week or two.

The scissors I use are as sharp as a razor, I picked them up at walmart for like $5 (2 pack) and they work great. I got the idea of using scissors from G.A.R.F., they say its easier on the corals because you get a smooth, quick cut without putting a lot of pressure on the coral.
Heres the link to their shroom propagation how to TREVORS MUSHROOM PROPAGATION

Here is a link to a how to video from them where it shows them using kitchen SCRISSORS to cut a xenia for propagation http://www.garf.org/MPegs/XeniaPropagation.html

I just play the waiting game because I think it causes too much stress on the shrooms. My mushrooms seem to spread rather quickly as I guess my water chemistry is ideal for them.

I use rubber maid plastic containers, they are something like 5x9x3 inch. I'll use a 4x4x4inch container for holdind them untill I am ready to cut them. To minimize the time they are exposed to the air. usally no more then a few seconds to go "snip, snip, snip" and then Im done. Its really that simple. I will put up some "how to's" the next time I propagate my corals so I can take pics of the process, step by step. Hope that helps aquagirlie
