Urgent Mushrooms Dying?

    Well yes, the pinkish stuff in the middle is its' (for lack of a better word) "guts". This means it is really agitated. If I move mine around (rearrange the rock) and handle them roughly (by accident) they will spill their guts. It doesn't mean it is dying, they usually go back to normal within minutes (at the least) and an hour (at the most). Is there a fish that may be nipping at it?

    Well the centersection of the mushroom in the first pic is now gone and you can see exposed rock, but the mushroom is fully expanded again and it looks as if the mushroom is splitting into for parts. Does this seem that this was likely what was taking place all along?

    Anything is possible. Mine have always split in two. I am happy for you since we now know something good came of the stressed out shroom.
