So from what I guess my water peramaters should be all ok.
I will post them up later tonight, ph might be off because of the timing but other than that we will see.

Temp fluctuates because of no chiller and I live in Houston.

I have noticed that the longer I have had my tank the mushrooms loosing color. They were fine 1' from the light (150mh) but I decided to move them lower and now they have lost color. I thought that they would get bigger if I moved them lower but just ended up with brownish color mushrooms.

Everything in the tank is ok besides the xenia, it started to get small n brown as at the same time. But I was thinking thy because of the emrald crab ripping it off of a rock. He is a lil bastard child!!!!!!

So is there any known reson for the mushroom to have these discolorations??

All good parameters. Besides ph is off @ 7.5.

Other than that it's crystal clear.

Your pH does seem low... and you should try and correct it. I use TM Tripple Buffer with good results.

From my experience I believe that Xenia, zooanthids and mushrooms really benefit from elevated Iodine levels in the aquariums (arround .06ppm) although some may disagree. I have found that elevated Iodine causes greater polyp extension and better colour. These observations are also noted in Reef Aquarium Vol2. If you add Iodine be sure to test for it on a regular basis!

I have many of the "green-ish brown" mushrooms in the 120 g DT. All of them are on or near the bottom of a 24" deep tank, with a light fixture of 8-54 watt T5s. Our experience is that they turn from a healthy looking, multi-colored "green-ish brown to a pale white/brown when they get too much light. After I moved them back into the rock work where they are a bit more shaded, the color has returned.

My issue is that they continue to increase in number. After 8 months, I have 3Xs the number of mushrooms we started with.
