For the past 2 weeks my mushrooms have closed up, some are now detaching themselves from the rock.

A few mushrooms are doing well, but half of them aren't.

I have made two new changes to my tank just before this started happening.

I stopped dosing kalk, because I read if I use purple up I don't need kalk.
    I added a 96Watt PC.

I moved the mushrooms to a lower part of the tank to see if light was a problem, no change.

You might have too many nutrients in your water causing them to close up. Mushrooms don't need to exert all their energy by expanding to get nutrients. The reason I say this is that I can usually tell when the nutrient level in my tanks are too high because my mushrooms seen to shrink in size. The day after I perform a water change they expand big time to get as many nutrients out of the water due to better water quality and decreased nitrate/ mutrient level.

When mushrooms get bad light, they will pop off. They will also pop off when the colony is too crowded. You have good lighting, lower placement will be ok for shrooms, so I'm assuming they are getting light down there. Sometimes it is unknown why they die, they just shrivel up and die. Something in the water would be my guess. Start checking for everything.

I've checked everything. The only thing a little high are the nitrates, they're about 15 - 20.

    PH is 8.3

I've been cutting back on feeding.

The red mushroom in my avatar pic is very small and hasn't opened in weeks.

One shroom popped off today, it never moved and was doing fine. Then I moved my red shroom a couple of inches next to it, to get it lower in the tank. It started moving around and then popped off today.

I'm going to do another water change, I did one about 10 days ago.

There was no change with the last one, I'm not sure what the deal is. Wouldn't a water change add more nutrients to the water?

I'm going to be moving soon and I'm going to setup a 55 gallon refug. Do you think I should cycle the refuge as a seperate tank and then hook them up? Or buy some live sand/rock and slowly fill the tank as I do water changes, and then hook it up?

I may swap out my 460nm with a 420mn/10000K, maybe it doesn't like the blue light.
