I'm a big fan of shrooms. I managed to get a "superman" shroom from my LFS this weekend for 5 bucks. I really want a blood red one too.

    Thanks for sharing.

Nice pictures of your shrooms - thank you for sharing

Yes, I can see the bubble algae in the sand with what appears to be a diatom bloom and maybe (?) some hair algae on the left side of picture #2 up the rock -- are you working on these items? Shrooms sure look happy, along with what appears to be a clown and cleaner shrimp .....

Awesome shrooms doratus. Were most of them bought as that size? Or did you grow them from frags?

Your welcome. Yeah my nitrates are a little high still (10ppm) and I only just recently got it down to that level. I'm not seeing any new diatom/cyano/hair algae growth so I think I'm on the right track. A solid CUC is in the mail from reefcleaners.org as we speak. I purchased an emerald crab for that spot of bubble algae but he obviously hasn't found it yet. The crab just never goes to that spot.

Your right about the Clown and the Cleaner Shrimp. Any time I try to take a picture of anything they come in and try to block my shot.

Thanks. None of the shrooms were anything larger than maybe the size of a dime when I got them, however they could have just been stressed out or something at the fish store. They have certainly multiplied though. The red colony was maybe 3 shrooms total, now there are like 6 just on the rock and probably another 5 that ended up in completely different parts of the tank. Same pretty much goes for the blues and greens.

About that, maybe a bit longer. The tank is only just over 9 months old, and the first mushroom came about 3 months into that. I'd say within the window of 4-6 months.

Thanks! Mushrooms are probably the easiest corals to take care of, so I say go for it!

I'm always afraid they will take over the tank or is that only the red ones?
