I have a small rock I got from a neighbor up the road. On this rock there are two mushroom's I think they are St Thomas Bubble's ( quote me if I am wrong) . Right next to the small one there is what look's like a Coco Worm. Maybe just a Duster of some sort. My question is will the Mushroom grow and cover the Duster and kill it?. The tube is covered with Coralline Algae and is also petrified. Should I try and cut the tube off and move the Duster or will he grow fast enough to still be above the Mushroom's. I am not even sure if I could cut it anyway as it is a extermely hard tube Here are a few pictures so you can get an idea of what I am asking about. The pictures arent very good sorry...

Im sure the little worm will be fine. If you see the mushrooms start to crawl over towards it, move the rock on the side. The coco worm will do fine underneath where the mushroom will grow back towards the light. Also, if babies start to grow around it, you can just cut them off when they are big enough and put them on a different rock. If you really want to remove the 2, remove the mushrooms from the rock, not the worm IMO

the mushrooms are in seperate holes and appear tto be joined at the foot I am new and do not know if they colonize or not. There would be no way to move them. I will try to position the rock where the duster will have to turn away to get up towards the light...Do the dusters clone like others or eggs or how does their reproduction take place?

I do not know how feather dusters reproduce, sorry. You can probably look it up on the internet and find it somewhere. Or, Im sure someone here knows how they reproduce. You can take a new razor blade, and cut the mushroom at the foot. Then, set it on top of rock rubble (in the sump, or a non-flow area) and the mushroom will reattach its foot to the new rock. I dont think the duster will grow towads the light. I could be wrong though. I have hundreds of dusters on my rocks, and the dusters will reach out, downward towards the back of the tank, attach itself to the back wall, and make its tube going all the way down to the sand. I'll try to take a picture one of these days.

I would not worry about the duster its a filter feeder, and does not require light, so even under those mushrooms it should be fine as perculator stated i have loads of little ones pointing in different direction even in caves...

Hi, feather dusters are worms, they construct the hard tube for protection. If it becomes unhappy with its' surroundings i.e. the mushroom, it will drop its' crown (feathers) and crawl out of its' tube and relocate on its' own. I believe the mushroom will grow out and around it with the duster growing up just enough to stay above it.
