Any "Reefer" will get an immense "high" from this...

Last night on Dishnet (high definition) Discovery channel was program on the Truk Lagoon "wreck reefs"

Amazing, incredible, awesome underwater photography..one of first done with new generation of "high definition" camera's - the high tech gear that went to produce was as "space age" as it gets. I

f you have "Dishnet" satellite...get a high definition receiver & TV...or get out and make "friends" with someone that has.

This is a "must see" - about as good as being there yourself.

Am sure is a program to be regularly repeated.

    Rgds,

Thanks for the headsup Omard.  Your tank looks very good.  Would you be kind enough to post more pictures in the Gallery as well as creat a Home Page for the rest of us to emjoy!

Omar, I hate to be a nag, but I am worried about that clam under those lights ... what kind is it? How is it doing?

Clam is a Crocea...admittedly light is marginal at best...probably not best clam to start out with in my tank...got before I learned better...

Has been in for about two weeks now and appears (to me anyway) to be doing well. --- opening nicely, attached herself to rock, as I discovered this AM, when thought came to move her higher up in tank...

What signs should I look for if it is starting to get "stressed"?

Also...am right now "feeding" it (and anyone else in tank who may need it) a couple capfuls of

"...MarineSnowTM Plankton DietTM 473 ml (16 oz.) Net Wt. 475 g - A Natural Planktonic Food for Filter Feeding Marine Invertebrates. This first of its kind product reproduces the special colloidal biogenic suspended matter found in natural seawater. These colloids, collectively called "marine snow" by ocean researchers, are known to be an important element in the food chain of marine ecosystems..."

Only other "feeding" is some "Nori" seaweed for Yellow Tang...which she gobbles up as much as I put in...(I judge how much by "size" of her tummy, and how how much/little algae growing on rocks...tank is kept pretty clean if I give her as little as possible...

Oh...also the tinest pinch of "flake" now and then for the shrimp (who goes nuts in tank as soon as he senses it - other crabs clean up any left)

Should I be doing anything else? More/Less?

    Also...

Only additives am adding regularly are Seachem ReefPlus & Reef Complete --- am testing for Calcium now, so only add that when shows some needed...keeping as close to 450 ppm as best I can...have not had to add much so far.

    Suggestions? --- THX again. :)

    T. Crocea are the most light required of all the Tridacnid clams. PC maybe ok for short term but in the long run the Corcea may start to bleach due to loss of Zooxanthellae. IME & IMO

yes the crocea will slowly starve and most probably will not even bleach and suddenly die of starvation while still looking healthy. also very sensitive.
