This is going to be my largest tank ever and will be my first attempt at getting away from HOB and going to a sump system.

So I thought I would start my thread now and go from the begining.

Okay well I am geting all my i's dotted and t's crossed and want to make sure everything is inline for my purchase. I just have a few questions that maybe you guys can clear up.

I am going to be getting a special order tank 48" long x 20" deep x 24" high. It is going to be a reef tank I will start with softies and maybe go to frags and harder stuff later after I get used to the softies again.

Anyway I have decided on a single corner overflow with a basic box to bring water in. I have two questions on this matter.

    1. Will a basic overflow with just teeth at the top do the job. I have seen some Megaflow Overflows and they sure are nice but cannot be bought seperatly where I am so far I have going around to the local fish stores to try and find some. I digress would a basic overflow do the job? or should I go with the Megaflow and try to find / build it?

    2. Will one corner overflow be enough I belive it will come with 1" holes in the bottom I am sure I can get them larger if need but is it needed? Or should I just go with two corner overflows and pay more? (which I don't want to do $260 is enough.)

Let me know what you guys think.

    1. A basic overflow will be fine.
    2. One corner overflow will do, but two would be better.
Make sure to post pics as soon as you get the tank, I've got one just like that.

the size is great.. although from a 60 its not that much difference.. i would get a 125 imo. but 100 is great too.

It's nice, since it's shallow you could get away with using t5s, but like elweshomayor said it you might want to go bigger. I know I'll need to upgrading in the future.

ok..... I see dimensions.... Nevermind... 100 is sorta an oddball size. dimensions just like the aga 90. except the 100 is 2" deeper.

Yea it is a little deeper then a 90 that is what I was looking at orginally but then relized that for an extra 20 bucks I can get 2 more inchs and 10 more gallons since they custom make them to order there are no size restrictions. And with my new Nova Extremem Pro 6 x 54w I wanted to keep the gallons down to still be able to keep a wide varity of coral.

I just have to get the ok from the wife for the 250 dollar price tag which wont be easy. lol. Is it ever?

As far as upgrading this will do until I have my own house when I can really go big possibly 200 gallon or so built into a wall that is quite a wise down the line though.
