The other night I had an incident with a worm in my tank and since I had seen it before and had a positive ID that it was a eunicid worm I decided it had to go and right that moment I knew which rock it was in. I had star polyps on the rock at one point but thanks to the worm there was only one left.

Pulled the rock out and put it in ro/di water hoping it would just leave the rock of its own accord. After 10 minutes i decided to take more drastic measures. My corals and the rest of the tank are worth way more to me than this rock. Out to the garage we went with a hammer and a flat screwdriver.

Few minutes later my rock was rubble but I did find him.

If I had a sump I may have even kept it... But I don't so sorry buddy.

He was 7+ inches long easy.

Here are a few pics. First one is my rubble aftermath... The rest are the worm and the chunk I found him on.

Sorry the pics aren't very good. You can hardly tell what it is.

Im not home yet but I went to a frag swap put on by a local reef club. Wife is driving so... I can take a few pics of my angry coals on the ride home.

It will be a few days before I will have time for in tank shots but here are a few to tide you over.

    Lavender hammer
    Green hammer
    Green acro(I'm pretty sure)
    Blue pulsing xenia

    Was a fun day out.

I'm sure they will open up nicely in your tank. Congrats on the new corals. :)

I thought I would post a few actinic pics before the lights go out. Maybe someone will like them.

Note: I had to add some white lighting to get the camera to focus the coloration correctly at all.

I love how corals look under actinic lighting. Very nice pics.

Thanks! Sometimes I like the actinic lighting more than the normal lighting but the camera has a hard time balancing the blue.

Updating my build thread to clarify that my original ID and additional IDs were inaccurate for the "eunice" worm incident I posted in detail about earlier in the thread.

The worm is a Oenone Fulgida worm. It is a pest worm as well and I am glad to be rid if it. For those unaware this type of worm feeds on snails and clams. With the empty snail shells lettering my tank I thought perhaps my hermits were to blame but that wasn't the case. It was this worm. I still have the worm regardless of what was insinuated and last seen alive last night in a make shift holding tank.

Now on to the real question I have been asking myself now.... What the heck was and apparently started eating my other star polyps recently. That colony is huge in comparison to the one that was eradicated. The eating do far has been more of a trim so Im not nearly as worried.

I do have a sneaking suspicion that it is my emerald crab.
