Crazy pod outbreak in my tank. They are interesting to watch as I've even seen them seemingly show aggression toward eachother while grazing. I know the population could balance but they have plenty food and no predators in my tank lol. Here is a pick of my glass to give you an idea of how many and keep in mind this is my glass, rocks and sand even have more.

Okay I admit the lower quality pic makes them nearly impossible to see... Lol

You can't keep any SPS but the hammers seem okay so far and all of my Zoas and mushrooms seem really happy as well. If I can just keep my giant snail from knocking small frags over I will be great. I guess I could always glue them in place though huh? :-/

The only issue I have had so far with the lights is that they are rather focused straight down. leaves the light lower around the edges. But some things like low light so its a trade off.

The fish I HAD liked the lights too as far as I remember, the issues was they were infected with broklynella when I got them and didn't know it. They perished not long after.

Thank you! I've worked pretty hard on such a small thing it was very enjoyable though. Can't wait for everything to start growing out even more. It is a slow process but it is definitively going.

    Before and after shot time.

    It's been a long time...

Not really but I like that phrase made ominous by a video game. Anyway. I have had my tank up since 1/18 when I started my cycle. So around 4 months and 12 days ago, give or take a few.

I am attaching two pictures. One the day after I filled it up, and one as of last night. The quality isn't the best but it should give an idea of how far the tank has progressed.

Thanks. One of my newest editions still needs some tinkering. It has to do with the hose running up in the tank. I bought a external breeding box on amazon for about 15 bucks. Bought a 50/50 CF for 9 bucks and popped it in a desk lamp I got for 6 bucks at walmart. Cut hose and attached to powered and it has a overflow back into the tank. Light and HOB refugium with monster cheato growth for 30 bucks. Can't beat that really. I had a tiny ball of cheato two weeks ago(not much bigger than a golf ball) and it has almost totally filled the refugium. Seems to grow well in there.

For those wondering here is a link to the breeding/holding box:

Amazon.com: Marina Hang-On Breeding Box, Large: Pet Supplies

I have a small hose section with a valve to adjust my flow coming out of my powerhead hooked to the line that runs in to the box. They recommend using a bubbler but that's just not going to cut it for the flow I wanted. Ironically though, the powerhead was too strong which is why the flow adjustment was added. I figured I was running a 69gph Rio Plus 50 and that isn't much, right? Well as water flew in to the box with enough force it hit the back wall of the box and rolled right over the edge and out of the top I quickly unplugged it and cleaned up my mess and added the flow control. :-[ ;D

Well two and a half weeks of cheato growth... I had a tiny ball that tumbled near the water in flow. This is what i had today....
I cut out a third of it and thinking that might love me enough room till next week. I think that is crazy speed to grow at really. I never saw it grow that fast for me in any other methods I have tried.
