My 110g cycle trends (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate)

    Here is a chart showing how ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate has trended during my cycle so far (in case anyone is interested). It's always satisfying to plot ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate on the same chart and observe that the trends really do what they are supposed to do! :)

    My cycle actually started on 10/1 (that's when I put the 200lbs of florida aquacultured live rock in). Before that, there was nothing living in the tank - just water and sand (not live).

    Why noticeable nitrate early in the cycle? Did you use RODI water?

    Yes, I use RO/DI.

    With quality live sand and rock you should have at least some population of both Nitrosomonas and Nitrobacter bacteria from the start. Nitrite and nitrate were being generated from day 1 after the live rock was added because of this.
