Even better it was a 50 long so I have PLENTY of head room for plumbing, etc under the tank... very happy...It fits very nicely in the stand :)

This will probably slow down a bit (i hope not) but most of the rest of the build will be as cashflow permits LOL.... my wife is also happy to have our dining room table back after a week of me hogging it for silicone work....

Will post pics of the leak testing tomorrow....

TC, Keep up the good work!

Ya know, in life things are often a matter of perspective.
Your tank- from the perspective of those last pics, it does NOT look like a 6 ft tank!

It looks like a 55g, and a 30 for the sump.

But you must have a large shop bench behind it, and the stand is taller than most (which is a good height IMO), to make it look like a smaller tank.

Are you going to put a floor in the stand and seal it with polyurethane? My stand has three coats in and out plus paint.

The tank is 60x18x24 - 120 or 125 tall depends on who you ask and which site you look on from what ive searched lol :) Im happy with it either way. The 50 under it is 48x13x19

And yes I am going to put a piece of plywood in bottom, paint it and seal it so for drips, etc I have a few gallons of "play" to catch some of it.

The stand is no where near done, we talked yesterday about finishes/trim - it will look really
sharp I think. Dark brown stain, but all the insets, etc will be painted black, going with some nice but small crown moulding around top and bottom.

This weeks goals include getting the plywood on the stand and getting the glass dividers in the sump - :)

Ah Ha!, My perspective was right!

It's a great size for a SW and reef tank! You have slightly more width (front to back)- which they say is often better for aquascaping, etc.

    Nice tank
