On the narrow inlet will probably be a sock - I did that side so that the inflow didnt stir up the sand bed too much, i made the inlet 1" taller than the other side going into the return area so as to give the water some drop to fully circulate it.

I also am thinking about a sock on the skimmer side where the bubble trap is as well... going to let it sit until tomorrow and do a water test but all the seals look really good. A couple were a real pain in the buttox to get to so I made a tool out of a copper metal tube and pounded the end flat like a spoon LOL it worked... kind of - :)

I want to run ATO but will probably not initially. The RO and the tank are about 15 feet with only way to put em together is under the house, I will eventually do that just not sure how soon, Id say as soon as daily top offs get old LOL :D

    Sump looks GREAT!

TC, My daily top offs got old.

Having a basement, I ran a line from my RO/DI under the kitchen sink, thru the basement ceiling, and plumbed it to a float valve in the sump.

ONe of the best things I've done in a while! My Sg stays at 1.0255-1.026, it's been working over 2 weeks now. Before, it was 2-3 gallons by hand with a pitcher a day!

Yeah I know when I had my 55 it was a gallon a day in the house we were in, very dry.... I doubt it will be long after its up before go with it, I may go ahead and add it into things - we will see... Probably wont be much more done on this until June, got a dive trip later this month for a weekend getaway so fundage is being diverted from tank to trip LOL But I hit a double whammy with birthday and fathers day in June :D And everyone already knows I want tank stuff LOL

PIcked up a heckuva deal today - Coralife protein skimmer that my scuba guy had hanging on back of tank, it can be used for both sump or hob, its going in my sump - he bought a new bubble magus and converted from wet dry to sump system on his 180... best part... was FREE... all I had to do was get it off the tank and clean it up :)

Thanks for the inspiration from your stand build. I was back and forth about using a cabinet I already have but now I know for a fact it wasn't strong enough.

Well its been a long time. I gathered a few more pieces for this build but today I went and picked up an 80gallon Clarity Flat Back Hex tank with built in sump - really nice setup - I only had to pay 500.00 for everything. 100lbs of sand, 100lbs live rock, 250mh with 4 t5 actinics, hob skimmer, some nice corals. Whole setup lid, stand tank - Being as I was still 1000.00 from finishing my 120, this was a nice alternative for getting going back reefing, friend of mine took a job where he isnt home much any more so sold it to me cheap cause he knows im into it and will sharpen it up -

Waiting for the water to clear, had to drive an hour each way, lil more back because we were cautious with totes full of duct taped 32gal totes.

Will take some pics on a new thread tomorrow - I'm selling the 120gallon, sump, stand and a skimmer if anyone is interested -
