How are you liking that skimmer? I am looking at getting that size skimmer for my 40G setup. If you do like it, why? And if you dont like it, why?

    Thanks.

i honestly havnt used it yet since im still cycling, but i got it on the recommendation of a reef buddy jason. he loves it and it skims like crazy. they are very touchy on setup though, so you must follow the instructions to a tee.

ok water params are up tonight. Nitrites at 1.0 (finally seeing some of these), Nitrates at 20 ppm, ammonia holding steady at 1.0 (has been for the last week or so) and PH at 8.0. Cycle is working its magic. Also, diatoms are growing pretty good.

What are you using to read your salinity? Hydrometer or refractometer? I would bump it up a little. Do top offs with saltwater instead of plain RO. Get it up to about 1.025

and Pack. I just tossed it in the sump because there is a little less movement there and it would give me abit more accurate measure. Looks to be between 1.024-1.025. so its actually abit higher then i thought.

Dude, get yourself a refractometer. The bobbing hydrometer's are terrible. Just horrid. Even worse than the swing arm type. It will pay off in the long run.
